Have you ever noticed the color of the food that you eat.

My food group use to be the brown food group. Think about it. Fried chicken, french fries, hush puppies, pizza, pancakes, waffles, muffins, banana bread, fried fish, onion rings and gravy on mashed potatoes. It’s all brown.

The next time you go into the grocery store, take a minute in the produce section and really look at all the color.

There is nothing boring about the food here! If you were to start eating this food think about how colorful and appetizing your meals would look.

I used to use the most boring colored plates. They were white with pale pastel flowers in the middle. I had the dishes that were beige and hand the geese in the center of them. Ick!

I got rid of those dishes and bought some colorful ones.

color_platesNow I coordinate my dishes and my foods. You would be surprised at how the different colors of food look on a brightly colored plate.

I made this for my husband. Grilled chicken with pico de gallo, green beans and seasoned red potatoes.


Stir Fry Chicken and Broccoli on a Yellow Plate

I made this for me. Chicken and broccoli stir-fry. The yellow plate really makes the fresh broccoli and carrots pop!

Changing the color of your dishes is the fun part. Start adding color to your meals! The colors of food are amazing and delicious!
